Buyer quick answer
A PVC toiletry bag should be specified from its bottles, tubes and leakage risks. Define material identity/layers and thickness, usable fit, seams or welding, closure path, compartments, odor/contact scope, cleaning method, decoration, liquid-containment test and packing.
Page focus: this guide separates water-resistant sheet material from finished-bag leakage control. A PVC panel does not automatically make seams, zipper paths or the whole bag waterproof.

Create the toiletry-bag RFQ
- Every bottle/tube with dimensions, filled weight, orientation and cap risk.
- Material identity/layers, thickness basis, tint, surface and odor scope.
- Usable size, opening, compartments, joins, edges and closure.
- Artwork, labels, contact/compliance, cleaning and claim requirements.
- Leak/closure/load tests, samples, inspection, packing and destination.
Map the contents and leakage paths
List each container, maximum dimensions, filled mass, cap or pump type and intended orientation. Identify products that can stain, soften, swell or otherwise affect materials.
Map possible escape paths through caps, bag seams, zipper tape/ends, needle holes and openings. Bag containment does not replace properly closed primary containers.
Define material identity and layers
Record base polymer, any coating/lamination/backing, total thickness and measurement basis, tint/transparency, surface finish and supplier material reference.
Do not infer plasticizer, restricted-substance, BPA, food/cosmetic-contact, recycled-content or environmental status from the PVC name. Request scope-specific evidence.
Approve clarity, surface and odor
Use a physical sample to approve tint, haze, gloss, grain and acceptable scratches, pressure marks, ripples, bubbles or particles under defined viewing conditions.
If odor matters, define conditioning time, bag state, environment and acceptance method. Compare samples after the same unpacking and conditioning procedure.
Size the bag around filled containers
External dimensions do not prove fit. Seams, welding, rounded corners, binding, zipper stops, lining and dividers reduce usable space.
Approve a filled sample with representative contents. Check opening clearance, upright storage, access and the closed shape without forcing components against the zipper.
Select welded, sewn or bound construction
Document how each panel joins and where methods change. Specify join/edge width, corner geometry, binding, seam allowance, reinforcement and acceptable heat or needle marks.
Inspect continuity and included layers. A welded join may have different leakage behavior from sewn areas, zipper tape and bound openings.
Engineer the closure path
Define zipper type, tape, teeth, puller, opening path, end stops and clearance. For other closures, specify components, position and overlap.
Cycle the closure with the bag filled. Check lining/panel entrapment, pull access, end leakage path and whether hardware scratches the PVC during use or packing.
Plan compartments and spill management
Specify pockets, dividers, elastic loops, removable pouches or absorbent inserts with usable dimensions and attachment. State whether components are intended to separate, contain or simply organize.
Test cleaning access around corners and seams. Removable parts and drainage/opening features should be documented rather than assumed.
Define cleaning without overclaiming
State the approved cleaning agents, concentration, tool, temperature and drying method. Test visible change, tackiness, haze, color, print/adhesion and hardware where relevant.
“Wipe-clean” does not guarantee stain removal or compatibility with every toiletry product. Use defined substances and acceptance criteria.
Approve decoration on the actual surface
Test print, transfer, label, patch or other methods for adhesion, color, coverage, edge quality and interaction with transparency. Record artwork size and position.
Heat or solvents may change PVC appearance or dimensions. Approve the proposed production method on the proposed material.
Create finished-bag performance tests
Where leakage control matters, define test liquid, volume, exposure time, bag orientation, closure state and allowable result. Add closure cycles, load, drop, seam or cleaning tests only as relevant.
Document test conditions and failure location. Avoid “waterproof,” “leak-proof” or “stain-resistant” claims beyond the tested scope.
Protect surfaces and shape in packing
Approve protective film, interleaving, stuffing, folding, hardware isolation, unit packs and carton pressure. PVC can show long-set creases, blocking or rub marks.
Inspect a packed sample after a defined storage or transport condition when presentation matters. Include film-removal instructions if used.

Frequently asked questions
Are PVC toiletry bags waterproof?
Not automatically. Finished performance depends on the sheet, joins, zipper/opening and a defined test of the complete bag.
Can a PVC bag safely hold leaking cosmetics?
Primary containers should remain closed. If secondary containment is required, define contents and run a compatible finished-bag test.
Is PVC always easy to clean?
No universal claim applies. Approve cleaning agents and methods against the proposed material, decoration and toiletry substances.
What should a toiletry bag sample include?
Use representative filled containers, final construction/closure, artwork/labels, performance tests and the proposed pack-out.
